User Guide

A short orientation to the dashboard: what it is, how to read each tab, and the limits of what public signals can tell you. Read this first if you are new to the engagement.

Purpose

This dashboard is a public-signal market intelligence layer for the 10 in-scope Paramount titles. It synthesizes Google Trends, Wikimedia pageviews, Reddit, IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, Amazon, and ustvdb into one comparable view so Paramount can triage attention, sentiment, and demand for each title week over week.

It is designed to complement, not replace, Paramount's first-party telemetry. Where public signals agree with internal data, you can act with high confidence; where they diverge, the gap itself is the insight.

How to use it

  • Pick a title from the Show selector in the header. Every tab re-scopes to that title.
  • Hover the icon on any KPI or chart for its definition, how-to-read, and what-it-is-not.
  • Each tab shows a freshness badge indicating when the underlying signal was last refreshed.
  • A dash () means coverage gap, not zero. Streaming-only or recently launched titles will legitimately show gaps in sources like ustvdb panel data.

How to read each tab

Overview
Portfolio-level snapshot. Start here each week to triage which titles are gaining, holding, or losing attention before drilling down.
Viewership
ustvdb panel data (sampled US households). Read the trend, not the absolute number. Streaming-only titles may show coverage gaps — that is a sourcing limit, not weakness.
Social & Buzz
Reddit volume + Wikimedia pageviews. A buzz proxy, not a sentiment score. Spikes typically correlate with releases, casting news, or controversy.
Sentiment
IMDb user reviews + Rotten Tomatoes critics + Amazon (superfan / merchandise proxy). Reviews are excerpts; click to expand and use the IMDb link to verify the source.
Search Trends
Google Trends index, normalized 0-100 per title. Compare the shape of the curve across titles; do not compare absolute index values.
Episode Detail
Per-episode IMDb ratings and the rating distribution. Best used to identify standout or under-performing episodes within a season.
Insights
AI-generated narrative summaries derived from the same public signals shown elsewhere in the dashboard. Treat as a reading aid, not as primary evidence.
Segments / Journey / Opportunity / Awareness
Strategic framing layers that sit on top of the underlying signals. Use them to translate raw metrics into discussion-ready narratives for stakeholders.

What this is NOT

  • Not Nielsen, Live+3, or Live+7 ratings.
  • Not first-party platform telemetry from Paramount+ or any distributor.
  • Not a forecast, attribution model, or causal claim.
  • Not a substitute for Paramount's internal performance data.
  • Not comparable across titles for indexed metrics unless the chart explicitly says so.

Methodology notes

  • Indexed values (Google Trends, Wikimedia) are normalized per title. Cross-title comparisons are valid only where explicitly stated.
  • Theme extraction and Insights narratives are model-generated from public review and discussion text. They are intended as a reading aid; spot-check before quoting.
  • Tomatometer is the show-level Rotten Tomatoes critic score. When critic-review metadata (publication, name) is unavailable, fields display as withheld rather than fabricated.
  • All data refreshes are timestamped; if a panel looks stale, check the freshness badge before treating it as a real movement.

Ready to dive in

Most users start at the Overview tab and drill into a specific title from there. The Insights tab is the fastest way to get a narrative summary for the active show.
